For some time I want to deepen the cultivation of a small garden with pots. For this reason today I have developed this small guide or manual for anyone who wants to start in the practice of growing their own food and not fail in their first attempt. If you want to know more, I invite you to continue reading how to garden with containers.
Orchard with pots
Not everyone is lucky enough to have a small garden or space in the garden to cultivate. However, the vast majority do have balconies, terraces, patios, etc. For this reason, cultivating at home is within everyone’s reach. It is only necessary to know the most basic concepts thoroughly.
It is the most important parts are to assemble correctly in your garden with pots. The first thing will be to organize our corner. Determine how much space we have, how much sunlight our plants will have throughout the day. For example, if we have a shady and small corner, we will grow plants that need little light or grow well without it. However, if, on the contrary, it is a large, bright space, our options will be much greater.
It is also very important to know that, where we place our garden with pots, we must have some water intake or a nearby tank, since it is of vital importance in any crop.
Now we know that where our garden will be located. We will have to select the basic materials to begin it. Among these materials, we will need culture vessels. These can be pots, planters, drawers, cultivation tables and best grow bags, among others. We will also need a substrate to grow. From my point of view, the best substrate is a mixture of coconut fiber and earthworm humus but there is also the possibility of using the classic black earth known as peat.
To irrigate automatically we can use a plastic bottle tied to a stick or a cane, which, in a very ingenious way, will provide us with a drip irrigation for several days.
Regarding this point, it seems too important note that, there is the possibility of obtaining seedlings of seasonal vegetables in agricultural stores and cooperatives. When we are starting, in the long run this ends up being uneconomical. Therefore, not very profitable for your pocket
Although the first option is fantastic to start being farmers. In the long run the most economical and profitable is to plant them yourself. Therefore, from my point of view, the best option to start and / or continue our crops is the use of organic or traditional seeds. With this, you will ensure that your plants are 100% organic and organic. In addition, a good practice to have a large variety of seeds is to obtain your own seeds and make exchanges with neighbors or friends.
